Just like its fellow automobile makers, General Motors has painstakingly made sure that every parts corresponds fittingly with the system it serves. The GM Wheel Hub assembly or driving wheel bearing, for instance, is composed of intricately designed parts, namely: outer drive axle, wheel bearings, steering knuckle or bearing support, drive hub, axle washer, hub or axle locknut and grease seal.

The outer drive axle is a stub axle shaft that runs through the wheel bearings and is joined to the GM Wheel Hub . The wheel bearing, on the other hand, allows the drive axle to turn in the steering knuckle or bearing support. The href=”http://www.replacementgeneralparts.com/gm-wheel-hub/”>GM Wheel Hub , wheel bearings, and axle stub are held by the steering knuckle or bearing support. Drive hub is a mounting place for the wheel that transfers driving power from the stub axle to the wheel. The axle washer is a special washer which fits between the hub and locknut.

Securing the hub and other parts of the assembly is the hub or axle locknut, a special nut that screws onto the end of the drive axle stub shaft. The grease seal avoids lubricant loss between the inside of the axle and the steering knuckle and bearing support. The href=”http://www.replacementgeneralparts.com/gm-wheel-hub/”>GM Wheel Hub is connected to the axle shaft. Instead of a stationary spindle, the axle shaft spins inside the stationary support. Power is then transferred to the wheels.

GM Bumper . It constantly absorbs shocks that may take place during bumps, crashes, and collisions minimizing the damage to the engine and the passengers of the vehicle.

The typical GM bumper is constructed out of rubber, plastic, fiberglass, steel and aluminum. Too often, it is also available in different colors, designs, finishes and shapes, as with the case of the GMC bumper,which corresponds with the style the vehicle tries to show.
