What’s the best colour for adverting on taxis?
-
Hi, Im looking for ideas and suggestions on what colour (colour scheme) to use for advertsing my taxis. I ahvea fleet of 25 cars, they vary in colour. I want to put my company banners along the side doors. What colour scheme would work best in terms of catching people attention etc?

Red is always an eye catcher. Most firetrucks are red, or bright yellow, because it catches the attention of others. Works for advertising too!

If your taxis are yellow, a compliment or oppisite color to that would be purple or violet. Finding the compliment to a color will always make it pop.

Since your fleet is not one uniform color, there will be no, one, single, “best” color for your advertisement.
For example, a red ad will not show well against a red body color.
For the sake of your “product’s” identification, pick a good, consistant color scheme for your ads and logo. Set if off against a neutral background with, perhaps, a dark or light border. Have your printer make a set of identical decals. Since the body color will not identify your company, it will have to be the signage.

It makes it a little more difficult because your cars vary in body color. Honestly, your fleet would be more recognizable and professional if the actual color of all your cars were the same. But if you can’t afford to do that, then I’ll assume that your cars are “normal” car colors (being white, tan, black, navy, forest green) and would suggest that you do a opaque banner (not see through at all) with a white background, most of the letters black with a headline in a red or orange. Personally, I would use an orange and a sky blue graphic to get attention (I would avoid red because it symbolizes danger and you want your clients to feel safe), but you want most of your info readable so make the text black.
