I’ve never had a problem getting one. Edinburgh has black cabs and loads of taxi ranks. You can hail them on the street or go to a rank. Edinburgh is full of tourists during the fringe but the only time you may have to wait is between 10.30/11.00pm and midnight.

yep can usually pick one up. alhtough tricky at times wheneverone is leaving pubs etc. but ed is 24hrs during the fringe so you’ll be fine. Although ed is pretty small you can pretty much walk from teh city center anywehre you need in about 15 minutes.

There are lots of taxi ranks around the city centre, and plenty of taxis on the road to hail. You might have to wait a while during very busy periods, such as when the clubs are closing, but during the day and for most of the evening it’s easy to get a cab if you need one.

The bus service is also pretty good. And Edinburgh isn’t too big, so if you’re going from venue to venue during the Fringe it’s usually possible to walk.

    Usually.

But be warned, central taxis have a rule where their drivers have to switch off their light and work through the list of called bookings if the car happens to be within a certain zone – so if it’s at night, you are better to book (though you don’t have to do it hours in advance)
