Travel Guide to Bogotá, Colombia
-
www.TheExpeditioner.com http www.facebook.com Bogotá, Colombia’s bustling capital city, is one of the best places to explore Colombian culture for the very reason that the city is full of Colombians from all over the country. In this video I check out the view from the top of Cerro de Monserrate, see the sights around Plaza de Bolívar, and travel to the small town of Zipaquirá, where I head deep underground to visit the famous Salt Cathedral, a cathedral carved out in the middle of a mountain. If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to the Bishopsteignton Taxis RSS feed. Nice one Expeditioner. The Tropipop song at the beginning was appropriate but not the salsa song. Yes, Vallenato is heard a lot in Bogota so that’s OK I guess.
Anyway, I loved your documentary; accurate, lighthearted and overall entertaining! Nice one!

@The Expeditioner: I loved the music. Yes of course vallenato is from the north, but if there is one thing we know it’s that Colombians are proud of ALL their culture, not just regions. If there is one other thing we know is that sabelotodos like IndustrialPower555 like to push their egos around! I enjoyed the piece. You’re a good host.

Wonderful Colombia and I like it.
Check out my world traveling channel.
Thank you so much guys

@TheExpeditioner Well I understand your point about liking those songs, but as I said before those songs don’t match the culture of those within the city (if you want to called the majority or the natives) . You can include videos of Nebraska’s landscapes with Texas music, but in my opinion it would be out of topic.
I tell you this as something I know for sure…but anyway is your time and videos.

@IndustrialPower555 I have to disagree, I love each and every song that I included there, and I included not to say that it was representative of Bogota, but rather because I like to listen to them. (If I did a show on San Francisco, would I only be allowed to include San Fran bands, or just bands from California?)
April 12th, 2011 at 6:21 am
Dude ! Just so you know, the music was horrible, not in essence but in accuracy ; those songs belong to norther Colombian regions, rather than the region Bogota is located on (Cundinamarca).
Next time I recommend you to include some song(s) that actually matches with what is shown.
The videos was good but there is much more to show !

i’ve learned uneucated anglosaxons incapable of even trying to command a second language, cause they’re born thick-skulled, make the worst travel guides ever in history, no surprise the world they rule is as fucked up as they come

very shallow approach to the “spirit” of bogota, and yes “spirit” cause one could hardly say that city or its people have any spirit at all, let alone experiencing the “colombian culture” (such thing’s far from existing), no wonder why during holiday season ppl can’t get out of there soon enough, their only merit is monopolizing the power they have as national capital to try and sell an image far from reality.

Bogota is dirty, dangerous and the people are not friendly of helpful. My girlfriend and I arrived December 25, staying at the Hotel Sabana in the centro. Less than a kilometer from the hotel we we robbed my four men with knives attacked and robbed us on a crowded street 40 feet from four policemen. I called for help as they stood there watched. Afterward they refused to take our names or make a report. I’m a seasoned traveler, but Colombia is dangerous and the police are not on your side.
